Royal Brunei Airlines selects Messier-Bugatti-Dowty wheels and electric brakes for its Boeing 787 fleet

Paris, 18 June 2013 – Royal Brunei Airlines today announced its selection of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran) to provide the wheels and electric brakes for its future fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The first of these jetliners is scheduled to start revenue service in October 2013.

Alain Sauret, Chairman and CEO of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, added, "Our electric brakes based on the Sepcarb® III OR carbon composite material, offering proven endurance, have already demonstrated their market-leading reliability on 787 fleets in service. Royal Brunei Airlines has made the best possible choice, and we are delighted with their selection."

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty electric brakes deliver weight savings while retaining excellent thermal capacity, higher dispatch reliability, simplified maintenance and longer service life. They are not only lighter than competing products, but are also designed to deliver more landings per overhaul.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty also supplies the main and nose landing gear for all Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
