Turkish Airlines chooses Messier-Bugatti 737NG Carbon Brakes
Vélizy, September 29, 2010: Messier-Bugatti (Safran group) announced today the signature of a contract with Turkish Airlines, to equip its 737NG fleet in carbon brakes. The contract covers a total of 10 737-800 and 10 737-900ER aircraft to be delivered new.
With Messier-Bugatti carbon brakes, Turkish Airlines will reduce costs in its 737NG fleet operations, thanks to extended carbon brake life, lower cost-per-landing, and weight savings of 600 to 700 Lbs per aircraft. In addition, the lighter weight carbon brakes contribute to reduced fuel burn and carbon dioxide emissions.
To date, Messier-Bugatti has received carbon brake orders for 233 new Boeing 737NG aircraft and 95 retrofits. Turkish Airlines joins a growing list of customers who have chosen Messier-Bugatti to upgrade their 737NG fleets, including: AeroMexico, Aerosvit, Arik Air, Delta Airlines, Egyptair, El Al, Garuda, Globus Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Standard Aero and Wakefield Bahamas.
Messier-Bugatti ensures commonality across the entire 737NG family, offering a carbon brake certified for the 737-600, 737-700,737-800, 737-900 and 737-900ER and BBJ – as either original equipment for new aircraft or retrofits.
